Caroline and I are utterly blessed by the opportunity to be part of the poetic effort which has lead to publication of this delightful collection of poems. Bringing young people together, empowering and challenging them to discover and unleash their creative potential leads to many new exiting ideas, deeper insights, authentic friendships, profound learning, loud laughs… and great poetry.
Many of the poems in this collection spring from the feeling of confusion. The confusion that we all experience by living in a complex and troubled time, and the creative ‘confusion’ that happens as we generate poetic material. The poems are the result of enormous individual courage and talent. Many of them are the expression of the group energy that occurs during workshops.
And now we get the chance to celebrate, by sharing the essence of the words and the emotions condensed in this treasure-volume of verse and wishes. Reading those poems makes me feel that all my wishes are fulfilled, and I wish that you find an equal stimulation and joy in reading them for the first time, and over and over again.
