Different Stars, Different Sky
by Aalix Roake
Moving was always so easy:
Pack your stuff in boxes
and go.
The first night, stand outside
looking at the sky and feeling
at home.
But the big move,
northern hemisphere to
southern hemisphere
leaves you disoriented—
looking up at the night,
spotting Orion’s belt
but all the rest are wrong,
twisted somehow until
they are not recognizable.
For your mind
all the night is missing.
